September 21st Western Society's CPD and Networking Day. A first full day event for te Westtern Society which was very well received covered a variety of tax, legal, company secretarial and IT topics with 7CPD hours.
September 23rd Autumn Golf Outing at Glenlo Abbey Golf Club.
AGM and Tax Update - The Western Society AGM took place in The Harbour Hotel at 7pm on Wednesday 15th June. A tax update was presented by Brian Keegan, Director of Taxation CAI immediatly prior to the AGM.
Annual Charity Event - Monday 13th June 4.30pm. This year's Charity event was in aid of Galway Waterways Patrol and kindly sponsored by Kenny Galway & Volvo Ireland. The event encompassed a fun evening whilst watching Ireland's first EURO 2016 game against Sweden at Galwegians RFC. Galway Waterways Patrol conducts voluntary patrols of the River Corrib and the city’s waterways – to prevent suicides and accidental loss of life. Volunteers go out in groups of three from around 9.30pm in hi-viz gear to watch out for people that may be in trouble bearing in mind that not every drowning is suicide, some are accidental because people may be lost or in an unfamiliar area.

Company Law Seminar Wednesday 27th April - presented by Conor Sweeney and focussed on the practical issues of The Companies Act 2014.
FRS 102 Application Issues and Experiences presented by Laurence May on 22nd March in The Harbour Hotel. Discussion and Q&A on some of the key differences and challenges that companies and auditors are encountering in the first time adoption of FRS 102 in the FY15 financial statements.
Table Quiz Thursday 3rd March in The Dail Bar. This year's table quiz continued the success and popularity of past table quizzes.
Western Society Annual Economic Outlook breakfast seminar in association with Davy was very well received by a large attendance on Thursday 21st January 2016 at 7.45am in Hotel Meyrick.
Western Society Half Day CPD Event took place on Wednesday December 16th from 3.00 to 7.00pm in The Harbour Hotel kindly supported by Mazars and MacSweeney Solicitors.
Western Society’s Annual Christmas Lunch took place on Friday 11th December 2015 in Hotel Meyrick with a large attendance. This year’s guest speaker ‘The Governor’ John Lonergan was very well received by all present. Thank you to all who attended and added to the enjoyment of the day.
